Een richtlijn van de Nederlandse Reanimatie Raad

Het wel of niet beginnen en het beëindigen van een reanimatiepoging zijn emotionele gebeurtenissen, zowel voor hulpverleners zonder medische achtergrond als professionele hulpverleners, waarbij soms ook schuldgevoelens kunnen ontstaan over de juistheid van het (niet-)handelen. Deze publicatie heeft tot doel de medische en niet-medische overwegingen voor het starten, niet- starten en stoppen van een reanimatie te verhelderen en een richtlijn te zijn voor professionele en niet-professionele hulpverleners, die met deze beslissingen worden geconfronteerd. De tekst is gebaseerd op de huidige medische en maatschappelijke inzichten omtrent reanimatie en probeert deze inzichten op een zorgvuldige en overzichtelijke wijze samen te vatten.
